Curtis Holder’s work ‘Caron in sunshine’ listed for the Jackson’s Painting Prize 2021

I am thrilled to announce that my drawing ‘Caron in sunshine’ has been selected for the longlist for the Jackson’s Painting Prize 2021.

Jackson’s Painting Prize exists to champion exceptional artworks made by international creators at all points in their careers.

This year, 400 works were chosen for the longlist from a record-breaking 8,674 entries from around the world.

In my work, Caron perches precariously on the edge of a small stool in the corner of her environment. She is half in shade looking directly at the viewer on the verge of saying something. Her hands are clasped tightly, guarding herself. She wears the brightest yellow anorak and headscarf. The piece was created using coloured pencils and acrylic gouache and is 120cm x 115 cm.
