‘Polythemus’ by Curtis Holder Highly Commended in the Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize 2021
I am excited to announce that my work ‘Polythemus’ has been selected for the longlist of highly commended works for the Self-Portrait Prize 2021, the biennial art competition curated by the Ruth Borchard Collection.
Dedicated to self-portraiture the Ruth Borchard Collection is a unique body of British and Irish visual art, consisting of the Original, Early and Next Generation Collections.
The Self-Portrait Prize offers artists of all backgrounds an opportunity to win the £10,000 prize and have work acquired for the Collections.
From over 2000 entries, my self-portrait was identified as an outstanding contribution to the self-portrait genre.
Alongside fellow longlistees, my drawing will be exhibited as part of an exclusive online exhibition promoted internationally via a dedicated virtual gallery and Artsy page.
A shortlist of works will be selected for an exhibition at Coventry Cathedral due to open in May 2021 alongside the opening celebrations of Coventry UK City of Culture.
