Curtis Holder opens new solo exhibition ‘Curtis Holder: Portraits of Brotherhood’ at Guildford House Gallery

I am excited to announce my solo exhibition Curtis Holder: Portraits of Brotherhood at Guildford House Gallery from Saturday 6 July to Saturday 28 September 2024.

The exhibition will feature large-scale figurative drawings depicting intimate portrayals of Black men. The artworks offer a multifaceted exploration of identity, masculinity, vulnerability and resilience against a backdrop of pervasive societal stereotypes.

Visitors can expect to see more than 20 artworks on paper, including two monumental room-length drawings, a series of multi-layered portraits and a selection of exploratory drawings and studies in both coloured and graphite pencil.

Installed within the historic context of Guildford House Gallery, a 17th century Grade 1 Listed townhouse, the artworks will be displayed in an intimate space with a rich history.

See the exhibition at Guildford House Gallery, 155 High Street, Guildford, GU1 3AJ from Saturday 6 July 2024 to Saturday 28 September 2024. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am until 4:30pm, with last entry at 4pm.
