Two drawings by British artist Curtis Holder shortlisted for The Derwent Art Prize 2022
I am thrilled to share the news that two of my works have been selected for the shortlist of The Derwent Art Prize, an international art competition and exhibition celebrating excellence in contemporary graphic art.
Created in 2012 by Derwent, the prize invites artists from around the world to submit the very best 2D and 3D artworks created in any pencil, including colour, water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal pencils.
My large-scale coloured pencil drawings ‘Will you hear me?’ and ‘Sunday 5:04 pm’ will now feature in an exhibition of 72 shortlisted artworks by 55 artists at the gallery@oxo on the Southbank in London from 24 February - 06 March 2022.
Huge thanks to the selectors of this year’s prize, curator and art historian Katy Hessel, artist Charmaine Watkiss and Paul Hobson, Director of Modern Art Oxford.
Now in its 6th edition, the competition has attracted more than 20,000 entries from 75 countries.
I am very much looking forward to exhibiting my work alongside the other shortlisted artists in such a brilliant venue.
